Salvador Dali - Master of Surrealism

Evidence of Dalí's dazzling graphic skills is abundantly manifest in the hand coloured etchings, dry points and engravings now being exhibited at the Tale Art Museum.

On show are pieces from the renowned Hippy Series - including the celebrated Corridor of Katmandu - which was executed in 1968-69 after Dalí's trip to India. The complete Zodiac series, portraits of Chagall, Van Gogh and Rembrandt together with work from the Faust Cycle are also on view. Dalí's long-standing friend, the publisher Argillet commissioned all these works from him over several years. The work presents fascinating, and often entertaining insight into Dalí's febrile imagination. However it remains, above all, testament to Dalí's formidable artistic vision combined with a superb command and mastery of his media.
